Fun on the West Side

Everyone, meet Megan & Jeff. We met them a while back through our mutual friend Kate and we’re happy to be able to hang out with them as well as shoot their upcoming wedding later this year! Oh, and I suppose you should probably meet someone else too: their adorable puppy Cooper. When Megan told me that they were going to bring him in the beginning of our session to get a few photos, I am pretty sure I squealed, out loud, because I was so excited. He’s just so. darn. cute! I mean, look at that face!

And what’s even cuter than that? Adding in the whole family!

We spent the first part of our session hanging around Olmsted Falls and a park with a cute covered bridge and it made for some really awesome images, although I’ll admit, it was a little chilly! However, Megan thought ahead and decided to bring a cute prop with her for the session: a blanket! It was a genius move because it not only gave them something to use to warm up a little bit, but it looked adorable in photos!

Megan & Jeff made this session super easy, they instantly went into it just joking around, having fun, and being themselves and I couldn’t have asked for much more. I know Megan was a little worried at first because it was originally supposed to rain, then it was a little chilly, and then just the overall jitters of having someone shove a giant camera in your face, but I can’t stress enough how natural these two were in front of the camera! I rarely even had to tell them to laugh or smile or have fun because they already were. Having a job that requires you to just capture already happy people? Awesome.

From Olmsted Falls, we then went over to Crocker Park in Westlake to change things up! I love that they had this idea because it made for a really great session filled with love, happiness, and a quick run in with a security guard that initially seemed to care we were there… and then didn’t anymore.

Also, I love love love this wall we found!

We basically decided that once we got into Crocker we would just take a little walk around and let the photos make themselves. Of course both Jim and myself had some ideas of where we wanted to go and end up, but it was nice to be able to casually walk along the way and let things happen naturally.

By the time the session was about to end, it was getting pretty chilly now that we were about out of the sun, so I’ll give you a quick glimpse into what was really happening: coats. Coats were happening towards the end in between every area we shot it. It was like a quick change for both Megan & Jeff, take a few frames, throw the coats on, head to another location, take them off and hang them on parking meters, light posts, etc., take a few more frames, then run to put them back on. Seriously, they were champs. Here’s what was really happening behind the scenes, haha!

Even throwing on some coats and snuggling for some warmth these two look adorable. Both Jim and myself had SO much fun and we are already looking forward to their wedding later this year!
