Kimberly & Michael’s wedding was outright stunning. Honestly, it was. They put so much love and care into their wedding and it really showed though. Now you see, they both currently reside in Brooklyn, NY but brought the wedding back to Kimberly’s hometown in Mansfield, and there must be some sort of magic in the air when you combine Ohioans and New Yorkers (and a Californian I was told!) and it just makes the entire day THAT much more awesome. So, this Mansfield wedding of theirs, it had everything photographers dream of: an amazing couple, a super fun bridal party, a ceremony in a field with a perfect blue sky day, and a reception in a barn that had twinkle lights and DIY elements everywhere. I mean, I’m not entirely sure it gets much better than that!
On the girls side of getting ready, it was all smiles, laughs, and selfies the entire time.
The guys took a different approach. And by different, I mean that they all pretty casually got ready themselves and met up later for some fun. Our awesome groom Michael had the most laid back task of the day, ironing his shirt! Nothing like the photographers coming in to say “hey! getting ready photos!” and you’re all “uh, I’m just ironing”, haha!
We then went over to Kimberly’s parents house which provided the most perfect setting for their bridal party photos and first look! The girls were up first, and let me tell you, with their mix of blue dresses against that gorgeous wooded background, I knew we were going to make some awesome things happen!
The bouquets were made by a friend and they turned out to be absolutely amazing!
Kimberly looked absolutely perfect when we took some photos of her alone, her parents cat even decided that he was ready for his close up as well! (And you all know me, I couldn’t resist snapping a photo of him, he was so cute!)
The girls tucked themselves away in the house soon after because it was time for the guys to arrive! These guys, man, what a group – they were instantly laughing and joking and having so much fun, it made our job way easy when it came time to take photos. Did I mention yet how much I loved all of their suits and how they all looked similar but not too matchy-matchy? Because I did.
Then it was time for the first look. It was just so unbelievably perfect. We’ve been Cleveland wedding photographers for some time now and I still get all giddy and excited before any of our couples do a first look. It’s just such an incredible moment for the two of them to spend together, plus it allows for even more photos during the day!
It was then time to capture some images of their crazy awesome bridal party! We started out a little traditional with the whole group…
…then we made them run a little…
…and then we ended with a dance party! Totally normal, right? (:
It was hard to believe that with all this fun we were having, their wedding hadn’t even happened yet and we had so much more awesomeness to look forward to that night! The venue they chose in Mansfield, Ohio for their wedding was absolutely breathtakingly awesome. I’ve used the word ‘awesome’ a lot in this blog post and I’m not even sorry about it… because it was just AWESOME.
Their ceremony was so gorgeous. Outdoors, in a field, blue skies, I mean I don’t think you could get a better setting!
Once it was time for their reception I realized that the day could, in fact, get better. They went 100% all out with the customized decor in the barn and it was beyond any expectation any of their guests could have ever had.
I was so happy that Kimberly & Michael opted to do photos of just the two of them as the sun was setting – I’m pretty positive that this day went perfectly!
And with every reception, comes all the fun stuff. The first dances, the speeches, and well, the partying! One thing is for certain: this group knew how to have some serious fun!
And they ended the night with a sparkler send off. So perfect. Kimberly & Michael – it was an honor to capture your beautiful day!
