YOUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION
What to expect:
Engagement sessions are FUN. It’s a zero-pressure time for us to hang out, get to know each other, and best of all: capture some images of you and your love in your ‘natural habitat’. Wedding days have time constraints, detailed locations, and are a time to have fun with your friends and family. Engagement sessions? Well they’re all about you and are a nod to this beautiful life you’re building with each other.
Where to go + what to bring:
The most common question I get is “where should we go?” and the answer is simple: anywhere. Take a moment and think about what you want your session to look like. Do you have a memorable location like where you first met or got engaged? We can start there. Is there a trail or walking path you always go to with your dog? Perfect, let’s hit it up. Maybe you have a favorite date night spot, this is also a great place to kick off our session.
Now, what to bring. I always recommend two outfits for engagement sessions. You can do one dressier and one more casual, this creates a great balance for your gallery. Say you love the lake and want to head there: you can start with a cute and casual outfit for photos near the water and then you can change into a dress and walk on the shoreline and dip your toes into the water. The possibilities are truly endless, but having options is always a great idea!
Extra info:
your photos are yours
Of course you’re going to get inspiration from social media, friends, etc. but my goal is for your session to feel like you. Trends and ideas are great but this free-form session is special because it’s all about just the two of you.
pets are welcome
You two have a dog? Two dogs? Perfect, let’s bring them! Just make sure you have a plan to drop them off at home or a friend/family member to come pick them up so we still get some time with just the two of you!
props? yes, please.
Oh you saw someone popping a bottle of bubbly on a rooftop? Hell yeah we can do that. You thought it was cute when someone had ice cream at the park? Like I’d ever say no to stopping for ice cream. Let’s build it into the plan!
